Barbe bleue

Amélie Nothomb is a young Belgian author. She wrote Barbe bleue in 2012, this novel is her 21st. She wrote too for example: Stupeur et Tremblement in 1999 and Cosmetique de l'ennemi in 2001. 

Her novel is a rewrite of the fairytale written by Charles Perrault. 

It tells the story of Saturine Puissant young professor of art at the Louvre, responded to an ad colocation. She discovers a luxurious, surprising and macabre world of Spanish aristocrat Don Elemirio Nibal Milcar. He makes a different dress at each roommate, who are disappearing shortly after. For Saturnine, he makes dress with the champagne color.

I think this rewrite shows that even today, fairytales still inspire us!
